Note: Vorlage: Lateinische Bibel (Ort und Auflage unbekannt). Reger erhielt aus dem Kreis des Weidener Kirchenchors, der das Offertorium in Auftrag gegeben hatte (siehe Entstehung), auch eine deutsche Übersetzung des lateinischen Bibeltexts ausgehändigt. (Vgl. Lindner 1938, S. 303.)

According to Adalbert Lindner, the Gloriabuntur in te omnes was also commissioned for the Weiden church choir (cf. WoO VI/2). Reger was specifically asked to set a passage from Psalm 5 (the second half of verse 12 and the whole of verse 13). No information survives about when this request was made.1 It seems plausible that Reger wrote the work – as with the Tantum ergo in g – in September 1895, when he was on holiday in Weiden. The pseudonym J.M. Barstel used by Reger, which implies a certain distancing, has not been deciphered.

2.1. Posthumous Publication

Before moving to Munich in September 1901, Reger also gave the autograph manuscript of this Offertorium to his teacher Adalbert Lindner (cf. WoO VI/2), who published it for the first time in 1922 in his biography of Reger. For the second edition in 1923 the music text was revised.2
